BB CREAM

BB CREAM

Why would you use a BB cream ?

People often think that a BB cream is used to make the skin appear more tanned, to create a kind of 'sunbed effect'. In addition, many women are afraid that a BB cream gives them an unnatural look, as if they'd wear a thick layer of make-up. Nothing could be further from the truth !

A BB cream is very subtle. It camouflages those irregularities that are most noticeable: red spots, scars, pigmentation marks, large pores, pimples. Without the artificial 'mask effect'. In addition, a BB cream protects against UV radiation with an SPF-30 (very important eg for people with couperosis) and moisturizes the skin.

How do you obtain best results ?

Best results are obtained when you apply a primer underneath your BB cream, eg a serum and/or day cream. This ensures that your skin becomes more even so that the BB cream can be distributed more easily and can provide a better coverage.

BB cream is suitable for whom ?

BB creams can be used by both men and women of all ages.

Which primer fits best with your skin type ?

Young skin (up to 25 years): Oil-free moisturizer or olive oil & honey day cream

Normal to dry skin: Silk serum

Combined to oily skin: Multi-vitamin serum

Normal to dry sensitive and / or mature skin: Silk serum

Combined to oily, sensitive and / or mature skin: Multi-vitamin serum

Note: when your skin is very dry, you can apply your day cream after the serum and then the BB cream. Allow the different products to absorb well and apply them in thin layers in order to obtain best results.

How do you best apply a BB cream ?

There are different ways to apply a BB cream. By experimenting yourself you will discover quickly enough which way works best for you :

With your fingers

Apply a few dots of the cream on the back of your hand (note: do not use too much !) and use your index finger to put the cream in five dots on your face: forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. Massage the cream with circular, throbbing movements of the fingers until it is absorbed. Tackling the fingers up and down prevents too much pressure on the skin, so that the cream is spread evenly without irritation. Start on your forehead and work from the center towards the temples. Then continue with your nose and chin and finish it off at the cheeks. You can also apply the cream to the skin around the eyes with throbbing movements. This prevents the delicate skin from being damaged. Start with a thin base layer. You can apply extra cream in the places where you want extra coverage. Make sure that you rub the cream on the jaw line properly so that a natural transition occurs.

With a sponge

This method is particularly suitable for people with oily skin. Wet the sponge a little in order for it to absorb as little BB cream as possible. Apply a few dots of the cream on the back of your hand (note: do not use too much !) and use your index finger to put the cream in five dots on your face: forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. Spread the BB Cream over your skin with the sponge. Rub the cream into the sides with firm, even movements. Start on your forehead and work from the center to the outsides. Then focus on the nose and chin and finish by rubbing the cream firmly into your cheeks, towards the outside of your face. Put less pressure around your eyes. The area around your eyes is very sensitive. Fade the cream by tapping gently with the sponge. Start with a thin base layer. You can apply extra cream in the places where you want extra coverage. Make sure to rub the cream on the jaw line neatly so that a natural transition occurs.

What is the difference between a foundation, tinted day cream, concealer and BB cream ?

Foundation: A product that makes your face smoother. It camouflages pimples and imperfections. Foundations do not contain a UV filter and do not hydrate.

Tinted day cream: A tinted day cream ensures that your skin gets a bit more color, but hardly camouflages. The cream protects your skin from external influences. There are tinted day creams with a sun protection factor.

Concealer: A concealer is a skin-colored cream, paste or stick that you use to camouflage facial unevenness. Unlike foundation, you use this locally and only to cover something.

BB cream: A BB cream stands for Blemish Balm. It camouflages, hydrates and protects your skin from the sun.

How do I determine the right shade ?

Unlike other tinted facial products, our BB cream is made in two shades: light and medium. This is because the color of the cream adapts to your own skin color and therefore you can not quickly choose a 'wrong' shade. In short, the BB light is suitable for people with light skin with little pigment and the BB medium for all other types. In winter, more people use the light because the skin is less tanned than in summer. You can also adjust the shade yourself by mixing it with your day cream or alternating the two shades or blending them according to the season.

Does a BB cream suffocate your skin ?

Whether a BB cream does or does not suffocate your skin depends on the composition. If the skin can not breathe, pores become clogged and pimples develop. This clogging of the pores is mainly caused by mineral oils (paraffin) and synthetic pigments, fragrances and colorants. Our BB cream is paraben free, contains natural pigments, fragrances and colorants and is free of mineral oils. It is a nourishing product with a camouflaging effect that moisturizes and allows the skin to breathe.
